Our story

Two notes. One quiet revolution.

Sol is the sun — warmth, strength, the part of you that moves through the world.

La is the moon — softness, intuition, the rhythm beneath the surface.

Together, they're two notes of music — and the natural pairing your body has been playing all along.

We named Sol-La after them because periods are cyclical, like music. Like the moon. Like everything natural. And like the best music, they deserve to be cared for with elegance — not embarrassment.

Each Sol-La pair arrives in a vinyl-record-inspired sleeve — a small, quiet tribute to the rhythm your body keeps.

Wash & care

Four steps. A pair that lasts.

With simple care, your Sol-La will stay reliable past 50 washes — well over a year of cycles.

Rinse — hands under tap
Step One

Rinse

Rinse in cold water until the water runs clear. Don't soak.

Wash — laundry bag in washer
Step Two

Wash

Machine wash gentle, cold (max 30°C). Mild detergent — no fabric softeners.

Dry — on the rack
Step Three

Dry

Air dry. Skip the tumble dryer — high heat damages the fabric and elastic.

Repeat — folded on linen
Step Four

Repeat

Wear. Rinse. Wash. Dry. Repeat. That's it.

First time? Give your Sol-La a wash before first wear — it activates the absorbent core.

Questions, answered

Everything you might be wondering.

How does Sol-La actually work?

Sol-La replaces pads and tampons entirely on your period. The protection is built into the underwear through a four-layer gusset — it wicks moisture away from your skin, absorbs and locks fluid into a slim core, and keeps a leak-proof barrier between you and your clothes. You wear it like any other pair.

How much can it hold?

Sol-La is designed for medium to heavy flow and protects for up to 12 hours, replacing roughly 3–4 pads or 4 tampons in that time.

Will I feel wet?

No. The top layer pulls fluid inward and holds it inside the core, so the surface against your skin stays comparatively dry.

Can I wear Sol-La overnight?

Yes — the 12-hour protection covers most full nights. On a particularly heavy first night, layering with a backup is reasonable.

How many pairs do I need?

Most people start with 3–5 pairs for a full cycle — enough to rotate while one pair washes and dries.

How long does a pair last?

Each pair is built to hold up past 50 washes. That said, underwear is a hygiene product, and we recommend replacing yours every twelve months. Wear it longer if you'd like — we just believe in being honest about it.

How do I wash them?

Rinse in cold water until the water runs clear, then machine wash cold on a gentle cycle with mild detergent. Air dry. No fabric softener, no tumble dryer.

Are the materials safe?

Yes. Sol-La is made from a soft cotton blend with skin-safe technical layers, is PFAS-free, and independently lab tested. Hypoallergenic and safe for sensitive skin.

Is it actually better for the planet?

One pair replaces 100+ disposable pads or tampons over its lifetime. A small drawer of Sol-La replaces hundreds of disposables every year.
